Key Obstacles to Overcome
Ambler is the registration infrastructure platform that ensures music metadata is complete, consistent, and reaches the right organizations for the benefit of artists.
Complex Stakeholder Ecosystem
Labels, artists, publishers, songwriters, and collecting societies all need to interact with the same data but have different needs and mental models.
Trust & Collaboration Gaps
Rights holders often distrust each other's data. We needed to build transparency into the system so all parties could verify and agree on splits.

Where Ambler is placed in the chain?
Song is written & recorded
The artist writes the song and records it. Once it’s finalized, the recording becomes the master.
Master is owned by the label
If the artist is signed, the master is usually owned by a label (for example Sony).
Registration in Ambler
The master is then registered in Ambler, which is used by the label. Its role is to make sure the song is properly documented and legally traceable.
This is where:
Ownership is defined
Songwriters, producers, and contributors are credited
Metadata (ISRC, splits, rights info) is stored
Sent to distributors
Once everything is registered and approved, the label though Ambler sends the track to a distributor.
Released on streaming platforms
The distributor delivers the song to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc.
My design process and approach
What made it possible to design an entire platform in 3 months?
When I started this journey, I had an ambitious goal of designing a complete product UI and UX in just 3 months. Not a prototype. Not a few key screens. The entire platform.
Here's how I did it:
Intensive collaboration. I worked closely together with the PM, aligning on vision daily. No long feedback loops, no miscommunication, just focused, iterative design work.
Strategic foundation first. User flows, information architecture, and core patterns came before pixel-pushing. Once I nailed the structure, the screens fell into place faster.
Design systems thinking. I built reusable components and patterns from day one. Design once, apply everywhere, this saved us weeks.
Real constraints, real decisions. We knew exactly what we could afford to build. That clarity helped me design with purpose, not perfection.
Key Deliverables
Fully Designed Product
Complete app and dashboard experience with consistent design system, ready for production implementation.
Working Prototype
Functional registration system demonstrating key workflows and integration capabilities.
Reflection
This project demonstrated how focused design work can accelerate a startup's journey from concept to funded reality. By deeply understanding the industry's pain points and translating them into intuitive interfaces, we created a foundation that attracted both partners and investors.
